Auto accidents CAN cause rotator cuff injuries

You've been in an accident and you're experiencing pain in your shoulder.  Someone tells you that you might have done something to your rotator cuff.

You think to yourself "This couldn't possibly be a rotator cuff tear, could it? I thought that type of injury only happened to athletes."

While it's true that rotator cuffs may be more prevalent in the lives of athletes, or workers who exhibit some type of repetitive motion in their daily lives, rotator cuff damage can also be caused by direct trauma sustained in an auto accident.
