Floor collapse kills employee at Royal Foods
A tragic accident at the Royal Foods manufacturing plant has claimed the life of an unidentified worker early Wednesday morning.Investigators have not completed their inquiry into the official cause of the accident, but they were able to tell sources that the worker had been operating a forklift prior to the accident and had entered onto an area of the floor that was apparently not fully supported. The excess weight caused the machine to crash through the floor and fall approximately 15 feet onto a basement floor. The fall, accompanied by debris that toppled down with the forklift, left the operator of the machine with fatal injuries.
Additional information regarding the identity of the worker was being withheld pending notification of family.
