Indiana Utility Worker Killed In Construction Zone By Coal Truck

Indiana State Police report that a utility worker was killed by a coal truck on Route 22 in Armstrong Township, Indiana.

Reports say that 48-year-old Robert Conner of Warsaw Township in Jefferson County, IN, was struck by the coal truck while locating a utility line near a construction zone. Conncer was standing next to his utility truck on the east side of the highway where the road narrows from two lanes to one. Allegedly, 59-year-old Carl White of Avonmore, Indiana was driving a coal truck eastbound past this point when he hit and killed Conner.

Police, firefighters, and EMS responded to the scene and rushed Conner to Indiana Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The Indiana construction site accident is still under investigation. The Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown will perform an autopsy on Conner this week.
