Head-on collision in Noblesville leaves 1 driver dead, 1 injured

NOBLESVILLE, IN - One driver was killed and another injured in a collision in Noblesville on Monday morning, police said.

A WXIN report states that the two-vehicle crash occurred in the 19900 block of State Road 37 at about 8 a.m.

Police said their initial investigation indicated that the driver of a Kia Soul was going north and crossed into the southbound lane, where the car collided head-on with a Dodge Charger going south.

The driver of the Kia suffered fatal injuries in the wreck.  She was identified as 44-year-old Nicole Townley of Noblesville.  The Dodge driver, a 39-year-old woman from Noblesville, sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and was flown to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment.

Traffic was diverted in both directions on State Road 37 while Noblesville police conducted the crash investigation.
