2 teens injured; 1 teen dead in Carmel crash

Carmel – Three teens leaving the Monon Center crashed on Monday, June 8, 2009, when the driver of a Jeep Cherokee, Lilly Martyn, 16, drove off the side of the road, overcorrected and lost control. The accident happened near Westfield Boulevard and the entrance to the Monon Center, an aquatic park in Carmel, Indiana. Martyn’s passengers, Sara Davis, 16, and Casey Trotter, 17, were injured and taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Martyn died at the scene of the one-vehicle crash.
Authorities do not believe that alcohol was a factor, but an investigation is pending.
