6 killed in car collision on U.S. 70

An 18-year-old Clovis woman and five members of an extended family died Friday, March 6, 2009, in a head-on collision west of Roswell.
Elaina Hita was killed on U.S. 70 when the vehicle she was driving hit a van carrying five adults and two children.
Hita’s passenger, 22-year-old Luis Navarro of Clovis, was in stable condition at a Lubbock hospital.
The van's occupants were 59-year-old Julia Lawson, 31-year-old Troy Lawson, his 28-year-old wife, Kristy, and their two children, 9-year-old Cameron and 7-year-old Kerabeth.
Also in the van was 62-year-old Terry Lawson who was listed in critical condition at a Lubbock Hospital.
