Alcohol Believed To Have Been Factor In Fatal Crash

A 43-year-old Rochester Hills man is under investigation for drunken driving after a fatal accident Tuesday, November 4, 2008, on Dequindre south of Avon. Petre Ristovski, 80, of Sterling Heights, was killed when he was pulling out of a driveway driving a 2002 Buick Regal and was struck broadside by a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu driven by the Hills man.

Ristovski, who was not wearing a seat belt, was trapped in his car and had to be extricated by Rochester Hills firefighters. He was transported to Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Hills man was not injured. However, alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash, and he was arrested, transported to POH for a blood search warrant and then jailed
