Auburn man, 46, crushed to death by bulldozer

Roger Delbecq, 46, of Auburn was killed Monday, November 24, 2008, when a bulldozer ran over him at an Albion construction site.

Delbecq was an employee of Monarch Development Inc., a contractor hired to help with the construction of a building for Dexter Axle at 500 S. Seventh St. in Albion, according to the Albion Police Department and Noble County Coroner Dr. Terry Gaff.

The accident occurred about 6:20 p.m. as two bulldozers moved earth at the site. After talking to one of the bulldozer operators, Delbecq stepped into the path of the other bulldozer as it backed up. Although the operator Delbecq had spoken to tried to alert the other bulldozer operator, the machine ran over Delbecq.
