Child killed in Main Street Collision After Darting into Street

A Monticello 7-year-old girl was killed Sunday afternoon, November 2, 2008, after darting into noon-time traffic on Main Street.
Donna Norris, 57, also of Monticello, was headed southbound on Main Street, near the intersection with South Street, in a 1999 Dodge minivan, when police say a 7-year-old girl ran in front of her vehicle. The child was transported to the White County Memorial Hospital by the Monticello Fire Department then was Life-lined to Methodist Hospital, where police say she died sometime Sunday afternoon.
