Crash kills Noblesville man

Posted on May 14, 2009

ARCADIA -- A fatal accident involving a Noblesville man left more than 1,000 customers without power for 90 minutes Saturday afternoon, officials say.

Ty Harber, 34, was killed when he was driving his 2001 Dodge Intrepid north on Devaney Road near Arcadia on Saturday May 9, 2009, when his vehicle left the roadway and he lost control. Harber overcorrected and struck a utility pole just north of 276th Street. He was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the Intrepid, which was engulfed in flames when first responders arrived. Harber was pronounced dead at the scene.

Duke Energy had 1,528 customers who lost power for just more than 90 minutes because of the accident.
