Frankfort Accident Injures Two

Two people were hospitalized following a two-car accident near the intersection of West Wachington and North Columbia streets, Thursday morning, October 30, 2008, in Frankfort.

Holly D. Lucas, 29, of 1710 W. Barner St., and Vickie Shaff, 32, of 852 Magnolia Ave., complained of pain to their back. Both were transported to St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital for their injuries, but were treated and released Thursday afternoon.

Misti H. Wessel, 31, of 947 Hawthorne Ave., was the driver of a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer that struck a 1998 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Lucas. Shaff was Lucas' front seat passenger.

Wessel reportedly pulled out of a parking lot onto West Washington Street and reported not seeing Lucas' vehicle, causing her to collide with the Malibu.

The report states failure to yield was the only cause of the accident.

Total damage in the incident was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.
