Head-on Crash kills one and injures three others in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS -- Investigators said speed was likely a factor in a wreck in which a man died and three other people were injured after witnesses said a man was driving too fast before the head-on collision.

Two cars collided in the 3300 block of Lynhurst Drive, on Indianapolis' southwest side, at about 9:30 a.m December 20, 2008.

Witnesses told police that the driver of a Chevrolet Malibu was going too fast southbound on Lynhurst when he crossed the double yellow line in an attempt to pass other vehicles and hit a Dodge Stratus head-on. The 25-year-old man who was driving the Malibu was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three people in the Stratus were taken Methodist Hospital with serious injuries, but they are all expected to survive, police said
