Icy roads lead to Crash on U.S. 30; 10 salespersons injured

The driver of a company-owned van, Thelma Watkins, told police she was traveling 30 to 35 miles per hour due to the snowy conditions. The westbound 2004 Ford van slid on the snow-covered pavement of U.S. 30 in Wanatah Monday night, November 17, 2008, and flipped several times in the median coming to rest upside down in the eastbound lanes.

The most seriously injured was Curtis Watson, 47, of Panama City, Fla., was among the passengers transported to Porter Hospital in Valparaiso with a fractured spine and separated shoulder.

No other details were available and the accident is still being investigated.
