A Washington Township boy is recovering from multiple puncture wounds after a dog attacked him at a friend’s sleepover.
According to local news sources, the 11-year-old boy was attending a sleepover at a friend’s house and had just knocked on the front door when the dog bite incident took place. When the boy’s friend opened the door, the family’s 7-year-old mixed breed dog attacked the visitor, biting him in the upper abdomen and genitals. While the two boys were the only witnesses to the dog attack, the dog bite victim’s father was still in the car and the owner of the dog, 38-year-old Jonathan Hall, was in the back yard of the residence.
The boy was taken to his pediatrician, who treated him for multiple dog bite wounds. An animal control officer was called to the scene of the dog attack later that night, though an official dog bite report was not filed for several days.
Hall has been charged with harboring a non-immunized dog, a misdemeanor, since his pet was behind on shots. The family was also ordered to quarantine the dog for tens days. Hall told reporters that their dog, Prissy, had never shown aggression toward visitors in the past or displayed dangerous behavior toward anyone.
