Jones Man Injured in Semi Crash

CASSOPOLIS — Robin Troup of Jones was airlifted to a Kalamazoo hospital Wednesday, October 29, 2008, after his pickup truck collided with a semi-truck on Mount Zion Street.

Troup remained at Borgess Medical Center Thursday and was in fair condition, a hospital spokesman said.

Cass County Sheriff's deputies said Troup, 52, was driving his pickup on Cassopolis Road about 3:30 p.m. when he failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the side of an eastbound semi-truck driven by Donald Hoover, 54, of LaGrange. Hoover was not injured.

Officers reported alcohol was not a factor, however, it didn't appear Troup was wearing a seat belt.
