Logansport Crash sends several to hospital

Police determined that an SUV driven by Hlawng Za Luri, 35, of Indianapolis was traveling north on 600E on Tuesday morning, March 3, 2009, when it failed to stop for the posted stop sign and collided with a westbound passenger car on Logansport Road driven by Christina A. Kaiser, 25, of Peru.

The collision caused Kaiser’s vehicle to slide into a ditch on the northwest corner of the intersection and strike a utility pole.

Kaiser's passenger, 67-year-old Jack Eckelbarger of Peru, had to be flown from the scene by helicopter for treatment of a possible head injury. Both he and Kaiser were taken to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. Eckelbarger was listed in critical condition and Kaiser in fair condition.

The SUV passengers, HaPaw Luri, 34, and Pwing Ha Pa Hong, 45, both of Indianapolis, were taken to Logansport Memorial Hospital where they were treated and released.
