Rollover Crash on N.M. 18 Kills Kermit Man

A rollover crash on N.M. 18 north of Jal Monday morning, January 5, 2009, killed 31-year-old Bruce Mendez of Kermit, Texas.

Mendez was driving his 2004 Ford pickup north on N.M. 18 when he lost control of the vehicle on the icy road.

State Police said Mendez was driving too fast for road conditions and wasn't wearing a seat belt, but alcohol was ruled out as a factor in the accident.
