Seventeen year old dies in head-on collision

Seventeen year old Steven Baker II died this morning as the result of a head-on car crash in Genoa Township.
Steven was pronounced dead at the scene, south of Grand River Avenue on Dorr Road.
Lance Newberry was the other driver involved; a 54 year old resident of Howell. Lance was moved to the University of Michigan Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
The initial investigation shows that Steven collided head-on with Lance on Dorr Road. Steven was driving a 1998 Ford Ranger northbound, and Lance was traveling southbound in his 2000 Chevy Silverado.
Steven Baker was not wearing his seatbelt.
The accident is still under investigation, and it is not known if alcohol played any role in the collision.
