Siblings Die In Car Accident On Way To Stepmother’s Funeral In Indiana

Posted on Jan 26, 2011

An Indiana man freshly mourning the death of his wife is now faced with even more heartache: on the way to their stepmother’s funeral in Waveland, two of the man’s children died in a tragic car accident that also claimed the life of a family friend.

According to AOL News, 43-year-old Amber Mills lost a battle with lung cancer just the week before and funeral arrangement were made for the following Thursday. But on the day of the funeral, mourners were shocked to hear that two of Chester Mills’ children and another friend were killed en route to be at their father’s side in a car accident.

Indiana State Police say that the car carrying 21-year-old Logan Mills and 25-year-old Amanda Mills was driving on a snowy Indiana highway when the driver, 25-year-old Anthony Suggs, lost control of the car and spun out. The car was broadsided by an oncoming tractor-trailer.

The car, which was traveling south on State Route 47, then fell into a deep embankment and the truck landed on top of it. All three car occupants were pronounced dead at the scene of the truck accident, just minutes from the funeral home where their family was gathered. The truck driver was not seriously injured in the truck accident.

The funeral for Amanda, who had a three-year-old child, and Logan, who was attending college, are now schedules for next week in Mooresville, Indiana.
