Six injured in Avoca crash

AVOCA — Six people, including three children, were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Ind. 54 in Avoca at 5:30 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2008.
Dusty D. Arthur, 25, Springville, said she was traveling east and looking in her rearview mirror because a vehicle behind her was swerving. When she looked up, another vehicle was stopped in front of her and she was unable to brake in time to avoid a collision. Her vehicle rear-ended a minivan in front of her that was stopped and waiting for a vehice to turn.
Arthur complained of neck, face, chest, stomach and knee pain. She was taken to Bedford Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Nathan A. Voorhies, 32, Springville, was driving the minivan and his passengers were: 27-year-old Brandy Voorhies, 11-year-old Cheyenne Voorhies, 7-year-old Briana Voorhies and 4-year-old Colin Voorhies, all of Springville.
Voorhies complained of neck and lower back pain and was taken to BRMC. In addition, the passengers in his van all complained of neck pain and were also taken to the hospital.
