Teen Killed in Crash on U.S. 30, injuries to 5 others

17-year-old Audrea D. Gregory of Fort Wayne died in a crash Monday morning on U.S. 30 and four other teens were seriously injured.

Audrea D. Gregory was driving a silver 2002 Pontiac going north on O'Day Road shortly before 7:35 a.m. when it was struck at U.S. 30 by a red pickup truck, driven by Dennis Bechtold, 50, of Columbia City, going east.

Audrea died at the scene leaving her four passengers seriously injured. Two of the four passengers were flown to a local hospital and two were taken by ambulance. All were listed in serious condition late Monday morning. Brittney M. Gregory, 16, Whitney Gregory, 15, Evan Gregory, 16, and Justen Gregory, 15, relationships to driver are unknown at this time, but all were from Fort Wayne and all were students of Carroll High School.

The driver of the pickup was taken to a local hospital. Dennis Bechtold, 59, of Columbia City, was listed in fair condition.
