Three teens injured in crash

Chelsea Spilman, 17, was driving west on C.R. 26 west of C.R. 113, just south of Elkhart, on February 14, 2009, when a vehicle in front of her braked.

Chelsea swerved left but collided head-on with a truck driven by Dennis Taylor, 65, who did not report injuries. Spilman's car then struck the car in front of her, which left the scene of the accident, police said.

Kaitlin Neal, 16, was taken to Memorial Hospital of South Bend with a severe head injury, and 16-year-old Chelsea Schwier was treated for possible bruised ribs.
