Two killed in Two-car crash near Wakar

NAPPANEE -- Two people are dead and one woman remains in the hospital following a two-car accident at 11:55 a.m. Sunday, December 14, 2008, on S.R. 119.
Walter Keim, 94, and his wife, Viola, 87, died at Elkhart General Hospital from injuries they sustained in the crash. Viola Keim died of blunt force trauma to the abdomen.
The Keims were passengers in a car driven by Samuel Miller, 45, of Middlebury that was traveling northeast on S.R. 119. As they approached C.R. 7, a car driven by Sherrill Yoder, 67, of Nappanee, pulled into the intersection and into the path of the other car.
Yoder had stopped at the stop sign before proceeding into the intersection.
Yoder was admitted to Elkhart General Hospital and was in stable condition as of Sunday night.
Miller and the other passenger in his car, Alta Miller, 75, of Middlebury, were treated and released.
The accident is still under investigation.
