Flood in Ravenswood

Keller & Keller Stands With Ravenswood After Historic Indianapolis Flooding

In August 2026, central Indiana experienced one of its most destructive flooding events in over a century. Days of relentless rain pushed the White River to levels not seen since 1913, and Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett called it the city’s worst flooding in more than three decades. Few neighborhoods felt the impact harder than Ravenswood, where floodwaters rose four feet or more inside some homes and forced roughly 400 residents — many of them older or disabled — to evacuate, often by boat.

Keller Cares, the community outreach arm of Keller & Keller Injury Lawyers, showed up before the water even fully receded — setting up a relief tent in the neighborhood to distribute food, water, and essential supplies. Jim Keller personally visited with affected families and provided financial relief to five Ravenswood households to help cover urgent needs like lodging, gas, groceries, and replacing lost medication. “When our neighbors are hurting — whether from an accident, an illness, or a historic natural disaster — we show up,” Keller said. “Ravenswood is a resilient community, and Keller Cares is proud to stand with the families still rebuilding.”
