CASCADE TOWNSHIP, MI - Two people were injured when their car crashed in Kent County early Friday morning.
According to WOOD, the incident happened in Cascade Township, where Kent County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the scene at about 3 a.m.
The investigation found that a woman was driving a Dodge Charger eastbound on 28th Street SE near Old 28th Street SE. As the driver was going around a curve, the car struck a tree and then a divider. The driver, a 39-year-old woman, and a 20-year-old passenger in the front seat were seriously injured and taken to an area hospital.
Investigators believe that alcohol and speed were contributing factors in the accident, which remains under investigation.
