MUSKEGON, MI - The Muskegon Police Department was called to the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident on Friday morning.
According to WOOD TV, the crash happened on US-31 near East Sherman Boulevard. Responding officers learned that a man was trying to walk across US-31 shortly before 5:50 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle.
The pedestrian, a 29-year-old man from Muskegon, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Anyone with further information was asked to contact Muskegon Police as they continue to investigate the incident.
Southbound US-31 was shut down at the Laketon Avenue exit for several hours while police and emergency crews responded.
