16-year-old driver injured after crashing into trees in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, MI - A single-vehicle accident in Cass County on Monday night sent a teenage driver to the hospital, authorities said.

According to a WBND report, a 16-year-old boy was driving a truck in Marcellus Township when the crash occurred at about 8:45 p.m.  Police said the teen veered off the roadway in the vicinity of Miller Road and Cranberry Street and crashed into some trees.

The driver, a Marcellus Township resident, was transported by his family to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.  No details were released on his condition.

The investigation has indicated that drugs or alcohol were not contributing factors in the incident.
