Head-on collision in Cass County sends 4 to hospital

CASS COUNTY, MI - The Cass County Sheriff's Office said four people were injured in a car wreck on Saturday afternoon, reports MLive.com.

The accident took place on Gumwood Road in Milton Township, where police officers were called to the scene at 3:44 p.m.

An investigation determined that a driver headed south on the road failed to maintain his lane and crossed over the center line. The vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle that was going north.

The first driver, a man from Sauk Village, Illinois, the second driver, a Mishawaka, Indiana man, and two passengers in the second vehicle were all transported to an area hospital.  None of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
