Man arrested in hit-and-run involving school bus in Calhoun County

ALBION TOWNSHIP, MI - The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office said a school bus was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Albion Township on Friday afternoon.

MLive.com reports a bus from Homer Community Schools was hit on Condit Road near 28 Mile Road at about 3:50 p.m.  Authorities said there were no injuries among the bus driver and a few children who were on board at the time.

The suspected driver of the other vehicle, a 26-year-old man from Jackson County, was later found on 25 1/2 Mile Road and L Drive S and was arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges.

He was found to be in possession of a gun, body armor and burglary tools, according to police.

The sheriff's office is continuing its investigation of the incident.
