Pedestrian, 60, fatally struck by vehicle in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Police were called to the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident in north Grand Rapids on Thursday night.

According to WOOD, a man was struck by a vehicle on Plainfield Avenue near the Interstate 96 westbound entrance ramp at about 10 p.m. The victim, age 60, died of his injuries.

The driver involved remained at the scene and was reported to be cooperating with investigators.

Police said they did not believe that drugs, alcohol, or speed were contributing factors in the incident. Anyone with further information was asked to contact Grand Rapids police.
