Police identify bicyclist killed in Kalamazoo hit-and-run

KALAMAZOO, MI - Authorities released the identity of a man killed in a hit-and-run incident in Kalamazoo on Saturday night, WXMI reports.

The victim was 60-year-old Leroy Carl Lawson, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.

Lawson was riding a bicycle in the area of Mills Street and Oneil Street shortly before 10:10 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle that apparently left the scene.  Lawson was found dead by responding police officers.

Anyone who was in the area of Mills Street from King Highway to E Michigan Avenue around 10 p.m. that night was asked to contact KDPS.
