Indiana Worker Dies In Fall At Kokomo Chrysler Plant

An Indiana autoworker at the Chrysler plant in Kokomo, Indiana has died in a fatal fall accident.

According to WISH TV Channel 8 and the Indiana Department of Labor, it is unclear how the accident took place or who is responsible for the deadly fall. While officials are still piecing together what occurred during the incident, the director of the INSafe division of the Department of Labor Michelle Ellison told the media that the worker who died was a 61-year-old mechanical technician who was working on a conveyer. For some reason, the man stepped over a guardrail and then fell to his death. It is unclear whether the man had dropped something or was reaching for something at the time of the fall.

The deadly on-the-job accident is still under investigation by Indiana authorities, including the Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration (IOSHA).
