Collision in Hendricks County leaves 2 dead, 1 critically injured

HENDRICKS COUNTY, IN - A collision at an intersection in Hendricks County on Wednesday morning left two people dead and several others injured, reports WXIN.

Two vehicles collided in the area of South County Road 0 and County Road 900 S near Hazelwood.  The Hendricks County Sheriff's Office said the driver of a Chevrolet Traverse was going east on County Road 900 S at about 7:35 a..m and allegedly failed to observe a stop sign at the intersection.  The Traverse crashed into a GMC Sierra pickup truck that was headed north on South County Road 0.

Two adult passengers in the Traverse died at the scene while another occupant in the vehicle was listed in critical condition at an area hospital.  The two drivers, along with two children who were passengers in the GMC, were hospitalized in stable condition.

The accident is under investigation by the HCSO’s Crash Reconstructionist Team and toxicology results were pending.
