ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Police responded to the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident in Albuquerque on Saturday night.
According to a report by KOB, officers found that a male had been struck and killed by a vehicle in the area of Central Avenue and San Mateo Boulevard sometime before 9:30 p.m. One witness told police that the victim was hit by a silver Chevy truck going east.
The pedestrian was reported to have been walking across Central Avenue outside of a crosswalk when he was hit. Police said pedestrian error appears to have been the cause of the accident.
The driver involved returned to the scene after initially driving away, according to investigators. It was not believed that speed or alcohol on the part of the driver were contributing factors.
Police are continuing their investigation into the crash, our Albuquerque car accident attorney adds, but no charges are currently pending.
