Indianapolis crash that killed motorcyclist investigated as hit-and-run

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -A fatal motorcycle accident that occurred in Indianapolis last month is now the subject of a hit-andd-run investigation, according to the Indianapolis Star.

The victim, 49-year-old Brent Markey was found by police March 26 at the intersection of East 30th Street and Pawnee Street, and died later at Eskenazi Hospital.

Investigators have cited new evidence and help from the public in their belief that there was a second vehicle involved in the crash, a white work van. The motorcyclist's older brother Lee Markey was quoted as saying that video taken by a local resident showed the van hitting Brent Markey. The video, which has been sent to police, was reported to show that the male driver got out of the van, examined the motorcyclist, and then left the scene.

Anyone with further information about the incident was asked to contact Indianapolis police.
