Motorcyclist injured in crash with box truck in Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK, MI - The city of Battle Creek released details of a crash that left a motorcyclist seriously injured last week.

According to police, a motorcycle collided with a box truck June 17 in front of 30 E. Columbia Avenue at about 5:30 p.m.

The 26-year-old motorcycle rider, who was wearing a helmet, was rushed to a hospital in Kalamazoo.  Engine 4, Rescue 6, and LifeCare Ambulance all responded to the scene.  No other injuries were reported.

Investigators believe speed was a contributing factor in the collision.
