Reckless Driver Causes Fatal Motorcycle Accident For Indiana Couple

One motorcycle rider was killed and another was seriously injured in an accident on Interstate 75 in Hamilton County this weekend.

According to the Gainesville Sun, 59-year-old Clarence Edwards and his 58-year-old wife Linda Edwards, both of Indiana, were riding on a Harley-Davidson and pulling a small trailer on I-75 on Sunday afternoon when a reckless driver rear-ended their vehicle. The couple was traveling in the center lane, while several of their friends road their own motorcycles in the right lane.

Witnesses say that 31-year-old Alex Omar Segarra was speeding, changing lanes without signaling, and driving erratically when he slammed into the Edwards’ trailer. Clarence landed on a nearby guardrail and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. His wife landed on I-75 and was pronounced dead at the scene of the motorcycle accident.

Police are investigating whether Segarra, who was not injured in the traffic accident, had been driving before he got behind the wheel.
