Goshen teen dies in crash with drunk driver

 

GOSHEN, IN - A crash involving an intoxicated driver claimed the life of a Goshen teenager on Tuesday afternoon, the South Bend Tribune reports.

The collision occurred in the area of Indiana 15 and County Road 326 at about 3:10 p.m.   The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office said the driver of a car failed to yield and pulled into the intersection, where the vehicle was struck on the driver's side by an oncoming motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a 17-year-old girl from Goshen, was ejected from the bike and died at the scene.  She was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.   The driver of the car, identified as 46-year-old Jodi Nagle of Goshen, was determined to have been driving under the influence of cannabis. 

Nagle, who was not injured, was taken to jail on a charge of driving while intoxicated causing death.
