ALBUQUERQUE, NM - A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in southwest Albuquerque on Friday night, reports KRQE.
The collision occurred in the area of 2500 2nd Street SW, where police officers arrived at about 6:30 p.m. An investigation found that the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was heading southbound on 2nd Street when the vehicle hit a man lying in the roadway. The victim died at the scene.
Police said the driver initially kept going south but then made a U-turn, came back to the scene and notified 911 about the incident.
The crash remains under investigation by Albuquerque police.
