Samantha’s House and Keller Cares, the community outreach program of Keller & Keller Injury Lawyers, presented a wheelchair-accessible Chevrolet Traverse to the Armstead family of Indianapolis on Tuesday, October 20th as part of the 16th Annual Samantha’s House Van Giveaway. The vehicle was presented at Keller & Keller’s Indianapolis headquarters.
James Keller, managing partner of Keller & Keller Injury Lawyers and a member of the Samantha’s House board of directors, delivered the news to Pri and Roberto Armstead and their sons, Avian and Avi.

How the Surprise Came Together
The Samantha’s House board had already selected the Armstead family as this year’s recipient. To keep the decision a surprise, the family was invited to Keller & Keller’s office for what they believed was a second interview.
Keller & Keller invited its full headquarters staff to attend, along with Samantha’s House board members. CBS4 and Indy Now were on site to cover the presentation. A taco truck outside the office gave everyone a reason to gather outdoors without revealing the plan.

James Keller Shares the News With the Armstead Family
James Keller then explained to Pri and Roberto that the board had already chosen their family and that no second interview was needed. The family had been invited back so the vehicle could be presented in person, with the people who helped make it possible.
The reaction from the family, and from the employees and board members watching, made it one of the most memorable days our office has shared.

Why Accessible Transportation Matters for the Armsteads
Pri and Roberto are raising two sons who are both nonverbal. Avi also has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair.
For families caring for a child who uses a wheelchair, the right vehicle directly affects daily life: how the family travels, what equipment comes along, and how safely and comfortably everyone gets where they need to go. The accessible Traverse will support the Armsteads’ medical appointments, errands, and family outings.
A vehicle does not solve every challenge a family faces. It is, however, something the Armsteads will rely on every day, and that is the purpose behind the Samantha’s House giveaway.
How the Golf Outing Supports the Samantha’s House Van Giveaway
The annual Samantha’s House golf outing is a key source of support for the accessible vehicle giveaway. Golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and donors all contribute to the funds and resources that make each year’s presentation possible.
James Keller’s service on the Samantha’s House board connects the organization directly with Keller & Keller Injury Lawyers. Through Keller Cares, the firm partners with Samantha’s House to host the presentation and involve its employees in the organization’s work.
“We support Samantha’s House because it’s a core pillar of culture at Keller & Keller,” said James Keller, managing partner of Keller & Keller Injury Lawyers.
“Giving back to our community and helping others helps make us a better law firm, and strengthens our commitment to the belief that our communities matter and the people in them matter.”
A big thank you to the Samantha’s House board for all the work behind this year’s event. Thank you to the golf outing’s sponsors and players for your support. Thank you to our employees for showing up and making the day so special. And thank you CBS4 and Indy Now for helping us share the story.

A Message to the Armstead Family
Pri and Roberto, thank you for coming back for that “second interview” and for letting our team meet Avian and Avi. We hope the Traverse serves your family well for years to come, through busy mornings, appointments, and the outings you look forward to.
Everyone at Samantha’s House and Keller & Keller Injury Lawyers was honored to be part of the day.
