"Raking" a Difference for Neighbors in Need

At Keller & Keller, community involvement is more than an annual initiative. It's a shared commitment that reflects the values we bring to our work every day. This fall, our Michigan office had the opportunity to participate in "Rake a Difference", a volunteer program organized by United Way that connects local volunteers with elderly or disabled community members who need help preparing their yards for winter.

The event united organizations and individuals from around the region for one purpose: to make a meaningful, hands on impact for neighbors who could use some extra support. Our Michigan team proudly stepped in to help, spending the day raking leaves and clearing outdoor spaces at three different homes.

A Small Guesture with a Big Impact

For many older adults and people with disabilities, seasonal yard work can be a real challenge. Something as simple as raking leaves becomes a barrier to safety, mobility, or comfort. Without assistance, cluttered yards can lead to increased fall risks, difficulty accessing the property, and stress as winter approaches.

By volunteering with Rake a Difference, our team helped to provide peace of mind for these residents. While raking leaves may seem like a small task, it's one that can make winter a little easier for those in need.

Looking Ahead

We’re grateful to United Way for organizing such a meaningful volunteer opportunity and for the chance to contribute in a hands-on way. We can't wait for next year's event! In the meantime, we continue to find ways to serve the people and neighborhoods where we live and work.
