ALBUQUERQUE, NM - One person was killed and another injured in a collision in northwest Albuquerque Friday night, police said.
A report by KOAT stated that the accident happened at the intersection of McMahon Boulevard and Bandelier Drive NW shortly before 11 p.m. Witnesses told police that the driver of a westbound BMW was going at a high rate of speed when the car collided with an eastbound Chrysler SUV making a turn onto Prospector Way NW.
The driver of the BMW was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Chrysler was ejected from the vehicle and hospitalized in critical but stable condition. Police investigating the wreck said the BMW's high speed contributed to the incident but have yet to determine whether alcohol was a factor.
