1 dead after vehicle crashes into tree in Shelby County

SHELBY COUNTY, IN - The Shelby County Sheriff's Department released information regarding a deadly car wreck that occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a post on X by WRTV, it took place in the area of County Road 900 North and County Road 675 West at about 2:30 p.m. A motorist drove off the road, overcorrected, traveled back across the road, and then crashed into a tree.

The driver was killed in the accident. No one else was in the car and no one other vehicles were involved.

Investigators are trying to determine what caused the crash.
