TIJERAS, NM - A semi-truck was involved in a fatal collision with another vehicle on Interstate 40 on Sunday, authorities said.
KOAT reported details of the crash, which occurred on I-40 eastbound at mile marker 175 near the exit for Tijeras. In an alert issued at about 12:30 p.m., the BCSO said one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
I-40 East closed at the Carnuel exit due to the accident, and traffic was backed up for at least 10 miles along the interstate. Drivers were advised to seek alternate routes.
