1 person hospitalized after vehicle goes off cliff near US 550

JEMEZ, NM - One person was hospitalized following a motor vehicle accident in Sandoval County last week, reports the Rio Rancho Observer.

Authorities said a vehicle went off a cliff near US 550 in the Jemez wilderness area May 31, leaving one person with a broken leg.  Paramedics arriving at the scene requested an airlift for the patient.

The New Mexico National Guard dispatched one of its Black Hawk helicopters to transport the injured victim to the University of New Mexico Hospital for treatment.
