2 critically injured in collision near Pendleton high school

PENDLETON, IN - Two people were injured in a vehicle collision in the vicinity of State Road 38 and State Road 67 South in Madison County, according to WTHR.

Police responded to the scene on Saturday afternoon at about 5 p.m. and found that a 2001 Ford Ranger pickup truck and a 2001 Hyundai SUV had crashed near Pendleton Heights High School.  An investigation indicated that the pickup truck driver crossed over the center line while traveling north and collided with the southbound Hyundai head-on.

The Ford driver, a 40-year-old man, and the Hyundai driver, a 60-year-old woman, were critically injured and transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment.  Both victims are residents of Ingalls, Indiana.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office is investigating the cause of the accident.
