2 dead, several injured after vehicles collide in Rio Rancho

RIO RANCHO, NM - A collision in Sandoval County on Wednesday evening left two people dead and several others injured, according to a KOB report.

Police said two vehicles crashed near King Boulevard and Sheba Drive Northwest in Rio Rancho at about 5:30 p.m., and both went up in flames.

The Rio Rancho Police Department and Rio Rancho FIre Department responded to help people in both vehicles, and found two people who were pronounced dead.  Multiple other patients in critical condition were transported by ground and air to area hospitals 

Police are continuing to investigate the wreck, which closed a portion of King Boulevard to traffic until the area could be cleared.
