2 injured in hit-and-run incident on NE side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Two people were injured on Saturday afternoon in what Indianapolis police labelled as a hit-and-run incident.

According to WTHR, it happened on the near north side of Indianapolis at about 3:45 p.m.  Police were called to the area of East 22nd Street and North Meridian Street after a report of a pedestrian struck, and arrived to find that a man and a woman had been injured.  There was no immediate word on their condition.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the crash, and is searching for the vehicle involved, which was described as a black Kia SUV.
