2-vehicle accident shuts down Cooper Bridge in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, IN - One person was taken to the hospital following a collision in South Bend early Sunday morning, authorities said.

According to a WBND report, the South Bend Fire Department was called to the scene at about 3:15 a.m.  Two cars were involved in the crash near the Cooper Bridge in the 500 block of South Eddy Street.  One driver was transported with undisclosed injuries.

The accident resulted in the closure of the bridge to all traffic while the wreck was being cleared.
