3 injured in crash after driver runs stop sign in Allegan County

ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI - A collision in Allegan County on Monday afternoon sent three people to the hospital, WKZO reported.

The incident took place in Salem Township, in the area of 30th Street and 144th Avenue.  According to the Allegan County Sheriff's Office, the driver of an SUV was headed east at about 5 p.m. and did not stop at a stop sign.  The SUV crashed into a truck going north. 

Two passengers in the SUV and the truck driver were transported to hospitals, but the extent of their injuries was not disclosed.   Some of the injuries may be attributed to seat belt usage, police said.

Investigators do not believe speed or alcohol were contributing factors in the accident.
